Olympia
Weight Loss and Fitness camp is guaranteed to be the best. Because
we are professionals and all of our attention is focused on weight
loss and fitness. Olympia campers will train in the UCSB athletic
facilities Robertson Gym, weight room, swimming pools, stadium,
Pilates studios, sauna and rehabilitation center. At OLYMPIA weight
loss and Fitness camp we believe that losing weight must be safe,
fun and long term. We believe that anyone are capable of achieving
their goals especially if provided with personal choice, knowledge
and support from professionals, family and friends.
Our mission at OLYMPIA CAMP is to help you attain your personal
health and fitness goals through education, encouragement and support.
Our program includes group and individual physical activities, sports,
great food and most of all FUN.
All campers will be screened by our coaches and sports science professionals
and placed into small workout groups according to their ability
levels.

COACHES AND SPORTS SCIENCE PROFESSIONALS
Victor Chakarian, PhD. Dr. Victor Chakarian is President and Head Coach
Olympia Studio-Sports Training Center in Santa Barbara California. Olympia
Studio multi-faceted center specializing in Weight Loss and Fitness Training,
Planning and analyzing long and short term training programs, prevention
of overtraining and sports injuries, recovery and rehabilitation training.
Dr. Chakarian has more than 25 years coaching experience, 12 years at
Olympic level in USSR and more then 10 years in USA.
Michael Yessis, PhD. Dr. Michael Yessis is Professor Emeritus at California
State University and President of Sports Training, Inc in San Diego California.
Sports Training Inc specializing in biomechanical-kinesiological analyses
and sports specific training. Dr. Yessis has been a training and technique
consultant to Olympic and Professional sports teams and to many athletes
youth to the professional level in USA.
LODGING
UCSB has five major residence halls situated along the coastline, each
with 200 rooms and 400 beds. Each hall has a recreation room, a formal
lounge, and several smaller lounges throughout the building.

Accommodations
are "Double occupancy". There are 15 rooms adjacent to a common
bath on each floor. Each room is equipped with a desk lamp located underneath
the bookshelf. Clip-on lamps are also located at the front desk if you
prefer to read in bed. Emergency procedures are posted on the back of
each bedroom door. We encourage everyone to read these thoroughly upon
arrival. These procedures outline where your room is within the hall and
shows the location of the nearest fire exit.
Free Shuttle Service is available for camp participants arriving through
the Santa Barbara Airport. When you arrive at the airport, simply call
the telephone number of the residence hall in which the camp participants
is staying, and an attendant will be by to greet you within five minutes.
There is no charge for this service.
Our Shuttle Service is not offered for the train and bus stations. The
number for the Camp office is (805) 560-8555 or (805) 895-3341. For campers
arriving via Los Angeles airport, please contact the Santa Barbara Airbus
in advance for transportation at (805) 964-7759.
For parking on campus, a permit is required. Parking is complimentary
for all camp participants staying in the residence halls. See the desk
staff for a permit. Front desk provide a 24-hour message service, since
there are no telephone in the residential rooms. Messages are posted on
a board central to the hall. At the and of each day, all uncollected messages
are posted on the appropriate campers door. Any mail will be posted as
well. If packages arrive, campers will be notified promptly. Our Housekeeping
staff will have beds made up before you arrive. A daily change of towels
and washcloths is also included in this service. During your stay, our
staff will see to it that all rooms, public areas and bathrooms are cleaned
daily. All residence hall exterior doors are lacked after 10:00 PM every
night for security purposes. Camp residence hall will be staffed each
night to provide 24-hour security and emergency services. UCSB Community
Service Organization "CSO" is available for safety escorts to
and from any location.
DINING
Olympia camp is NOT a DIET program. Our method to success is NOT a DIET,
but a self-rewarding proven and effective approach to a new lifestyle!
Our menus display an eclectic range of international, regional and heartland
items designed to please our camp participants. We use the freshest ingredients
available in our county featuring produce from local farms and growers,
prime meats, quality seafood and baked goods prepared daily in our own
kitchen. Our food professionals will design a signature, nutritionally
complete, well-balanced, proportioned menu especially for our camp participants.(
BREAKFAST, LUNCH and DINNER )
RECREATION
We have great recreation program! Olympia recreation directors provide
a full recreation schedule by organizing many fun games and contests where
campers compete each other. Special weekend activities are planned for
campers staying more than one session. One of the most important parts
of camp is the friendship made with campers and coaches from around the
country and around the world, so our free-time and evening programs are
designed to bring all of our campers and coaches together socially.
ACTIVITIES:
Volleyball, Kayaking, Basketball, Whale Watching, Sailboat Rides, Horseback
Riding, Ping Pong, Trolley Tours, Unique Bikes Rides, Campfires, Tour
to Channel Islands and Hearst Castle, Hiking and many other Fun Recreation
Activities.
GENERAL INFORMATION
Camp Schedule: Olympia Weight loss and fitness Camp runs from Sunday to
Sunday for four sessions Seven day each, beginning July 1st, 2002. Campers
may enroll in any number of the 4 one-week sessions. We recommend a minimum
stay of two weeks. All campers will be screened by our coaches and sports
science professionals and placed into workout groups according to their
age and ability levels.
Check-in is on Sundays from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
Checkout is on Sundays from 9:00 am to 11:30 am.
During your campers stay, visiting hours are from Friday at 3:00 pm until
Sunday at 7:00 pm.

The training program, excellent lodging and food, recreational activities,
24-hour supervision, and excess insurance coverage are all included in
the camp fee. All campers, however, are required to be covered by their
own medical insurance.
Applications are accepted on a first-com first-serve basis as we can only
accept a very limited number of campers. Please accompany the application
with a $ 250.00 per session deposit payable to Olympia Studio. A camp
confirmation packet that requires a physical exam will be sent upon receipt
of the application and deposit. All balances are due June 1st 2002.
Refund policy: Prior to June 1st, deposit less $ 100.00 processing charge
is refundable with written notification of cancellation. After June 1st
deposits are nonrefundable. This also applies to applications received
after June 1st. No refund will be made for a camper who withdraws at any
time after arriving at camp. There is no reduction or refund of fees for
late arrival or early departure. We reserve the right to dismiss, without
refund, any camper whose conduct is detrimental to the camp.
RATES:
$1200.00 one session.
Two
sessions $ 1100.00 per session.
Three or more sessions $ 1000.00 per session.
